Dr.Chow Ming Fai,  National Energy University, Malaysia

Sustainable urban stormwater management, Flood forecasting & mitigation, Hydrological and water quality modeling, Water resources management, Green infrastructures

Research Experience:

Dr. Chow Ming Fai had his BSc. Degree in Civil Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2007 and then obtained his PhD degree in 2011 from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) as well. He then worked as a post doctoral research fellow in the Research Center for Environmental Changes (RCEC), Academia Sinica, Taiwan from 2012 until 2013. Dr. Chow then joined Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) in December 2013 as a senior lecturer in the department of civil engineering. He has published more than 50 papers in international journals and conference proceedings and currently supervising 3 PhD and 6 master students. Dr. Chow had been involved in many research projects on flood forecasting and mitigation system, especially the Japan’s JICA-SATREPS project on reduction geo-hazard damage in Malaysia caused by landslide and flood. In 2015, Dr. Chow has won the prestigious Green Talents award 2015 from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research Germany for his excellent in sustainability research. He was also awarded the Outstanding Academic Award (category research & publication) in 2016 by Universiti Tenaga Nasional. He was accepted as a young scientist in the International Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR) programme.
